Northern Kentucky University’s School of the Arts invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor in Woodwinds. The role includes teaching undergraduate loads, coaching chamber ensembles, and coordinating the Woodwind Area, with potential secondary teaching duties in theory, history, or related areas.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Music or Master of Music with commensurate exceptional experience.
• University teaching experience (at least two years preferred).
• Sustained engagement as a solo and ensemble performer is required.
• Mentorship, office hours, and timely grading are expected of the candidate.

Responsabilités

• Teach applied studio flute, oboe, clarinet, or bassoon.
• Recruit and maintain a high-quality applied studio.
• Coach woodwind chamber ensemble and other collaborative chamber music experiences.
• Coordinate the Woodwind Area.
• Demonstrate ability to contribute to secondary areas (e.g., theory, history, aural skills, woodwind methods).
• Maintain current knowledge in the discipline and mentor students.
• Uphold student-centered teaching and a supportive learning environment.
