Job Summary

This position works under the direction of the Head Coach to provide guidance to student-athletes, fostering skill development, discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork. The role supports the district’s mission to prepare students for career, life, and college, aiming to develop responsible and compassionate citizens. Work is performed under the supervision of the Head Coach, Principal, and Athletic Director.

Qualifications

• Minimum age: 21 years old
• Must pass a background check
• Current Red Cross First Aid/CPR Certification
• Completion of WIAA online courses and WSD head coach checklists
• Current WIAA coaching clock hours
• Ability to pass a transportation screening test for student-athletes
• Regular and punctual attendance
• Previous coaching experience preferred
• Bilingual skills preferred

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Promote the core values of the school's Athletic Program
• Serve as a positive role model
• Assist in planning, organizing, and delivering sports activities
• Support practices and games organization
• Assist with sports promotion and development
• Ensure student-athletes adhere to rules and policies
• Supervise student-athletes during activities
• Follow health and safety protocols
• Report injuries and incidents
• Learn and apply coaching techniques and strategies
• Perform additional assigned duties

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Frequent standing, talking, and walking; occasional bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., and travel. Work mainly in athletic settings with moderate to loud noise levels and outdoor conditions.
