Job summary

UFP Industries in Wilton, CT is seeking an Assembler I to fabricate component parts and assemble finished products according to customer specifications. You will secure parts, set up work areas, and follow prescribed instructions while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires basic math and a focus on accuracy, with no strict experience requirement; however, 6 months of manufacturing/assembling experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
• 6 months of manufacturing and assembling experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes work area setup.
• Fits parts together in accordance with prescribed instructions and quality standards.
• Operates hand tools as required to complete the assembly process.
• Stacks completed products and, if required, may cover, label, and band components.
• Keeps work area safe, clean and organized; ensures equipment is safe to operate.
• Performs pre-shift startup equipment inspection and reports issues.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment; records production data as required.
• Checks materials and finished products for standards compliance.
• Adheres to safety and quality procedures; participates in safety and CI programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Assembler I is responsible for fabricating component parts or assembling the finished product according to the customer’s specifications. Secures and maintains correct component parts and supplies required for the operation.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Completes work area setup
• Fits parts together in accordance with prescribed instructions and in accordance with quality standards
• Operates hand tools as required to complete the assembly process
• Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label, and band components finished product
• Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate
• Completes pre-shift startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns
• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment
• Maintains production records as required
• Checks materials and finished products to ensure they are compliant with standards
• Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards
• Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required
• No minimum experience is required however, 6 months of manufacturing and assembling experience is preferred
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred
• Must be at least 18 years of age
