Job summary

Builders FirstSource seeks an ELP Design Manager to oversee the facility's ELP Design function, ensuring accurate floor wood truss designs and effective truss placement plans. You will resolve engineering issues, mentor the ELP team, and apply building codes to design safe structures.

Collaboration with sales and customers is essential to deliver quality results. The role emphasizes leadership, project coordination, and adherence to design standards within a dynamic construction materials

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Design engineered wood trusses and ensure accurate, quality design by ELP Designers.
• Direct method of generating truss placement plans and identify locations of individual truss designs.
• Assist in resolving engineering issues and provide motivation and support to ELP department.
• Stay current with building codes including live loads, dead loads, wind, and seismic effects; convey this to staff.
• Collaborate with outside sales and customers to deliver safe, high-quality structures.
• Gather customer feedback to improve ELP function overall.
