Job summary

Ōnin Staffing is seeking a production/woodworking associate in Tennessee. You will fabricate wood parts, read orders and blueprints, and maintain quality and safety standards in a busy shop environment.

The role requires reading/writing, color coding ability, and at least 2 years of woodworking experience in manufacturing. Weekly pay and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of wood working experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and write; basic color distinction for color coding.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricates wood parts using woodworking machines and read blueprints.
  • Reads and comprehends work orders, instructions, and blueprints; identifies part numbers.
  • Suggests procedural changes to facilitate work and maintain quality.
  • Performs equipment checks and reports discrepancies to leadership.
  • Maintains 5S and safety/compliance in the workstation.

Job description

  • Fabricates wood parts for assembled products by using woodworking machines.
  • Suggests changes in procedures, standards, to facilitate work and maintain quality.
  • Read and comprehend work orders, written and verbal instruction and blueprints; identify part numbers.
  • Preform checks to ensure equipment is in safe and working order; report discrepancies to department leadership.
  • Uses gauges and other devices to verify conformity to stands of product being fabricated.
  • Maintains good housekeeping in the workstation by following 5S standards and procedures.
  • Complies with all safety and environmental requirements and reports all discrepancies to management.
  • Regular and reliable attendance at job site is required
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Basic language skills – Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Basic mathematical skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ration, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Basic reasoning ability – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years of wood working experience in a production or manufacturing environment

  • Ability to distinguish colors for color coding purposes
