Job summary

Binderholz is seeking a Production Operator for its Enfield, NC saw mill. The role focuses on operating equipment to keep a steady flow of lumber for the production lines, performing quality checks, and following safety procedures.

You will read work orders, adjust equipment for quality and productivity, and communicate with line operators to resolve issues. Working 12-hour rotating shifts and daytime/night shifts are available.

Qualifications

• Experience in timber yards, sawmills, shipping, or industrial logistics.
• Strong emphasis on safety, efficiency, and organization.
• Ability to read and follow load plans and instructions.
• Must lift and maneuver heavy materials up to 50 lbs.
• Work outdoors in variable weather.
• Be dependable and able to take direction.
• Able to work flexible schedules and long hours.
• Learn general manufacturing duties.
• Work outdoors at all temperatures in a loud environment.
• Perform walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Operate equipment safely using computer software, HMI, and control panels.
• Stand/walk for long periods.
• Frequent lifting and handling heavy materials.
• Exposure to moving mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to maintain a steady flow of wood for the production line.
• Use Computer, HMI, and control panels to run equipment and ensure flow of material.
• Check quality of incoming and outgoing lumber.
• Perform quality checks on lumber being produced.
• Adjust equipment to maintain quality and productivity.
• Conduct general maintenance of equipment.
• Use measuring devices to ensure products meet specifications.
• Read and understand work instructions for correct lumber grades.
• Communicate production/quality issues to line operators and shift leaders.
• Learn Binderholz rules for lumber production.
• Follow safety and work procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
