Hood Distribution - Wood Moulder Machine Operator

Hood Distribution, established in 1899, is a wholesale distributor of hardwood lumber, plywood, and related specialty wood products. We are seeking a detail-oriented candidate with moulder machine experience for our Wood Moulder Machine Operator position.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable using tools and technology, possess strong attention to detail, and be able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up machines and monitor setups to ensure processes are followed correctly.
• Read work orders to determine machine setup procedures and profile types.
• Select and install tooling and cutting heads.
• Operate the moulder, inspect for proper profile specifications, and run wood stock through the machine.
• Complete production records, including quantity, footage, profiles, species, and customer information.
• Monitor machine operation during runs, make adjustments to correct issues, and ensure specifications are met.
• Inspect raw materials for defects and conformity to size and other standards.

Required Experience

• Ability to operate, calibrate, and maintain a moulder machine.
• Strong attention to detail.
• At least 2 years of experience operating a moulder machine.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate hand tools and machinery effectively.
