Job summary

Salem Sports Events seeks a Mechanical Arts Technician to convert architectural intent into detailed shop drawings and BOMs for wood and metal components. You will coordinate with design teams, clients, and fabrication shops to assure manufacturability and accurate documentation for production and installation.

The role requires strong CAD skills (EnRoute, SketchUp, AutoCAD), deep knowledge of wood/metal fabrication, and the ability to read complex drawings and specifications. 5+ years preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong CAD experience translating design drawings into production-ready documents.
• Proven ability to read complex architectural and structural drawings.
• Experience generating and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Familiarity with LEAN principles and manufacturing workflows.
• Attention to detail to identify constructability and design issues.

Responsibilities

• Translate architectural drawings into detailed shop drawings and BOMs for wood and metal components.
• Read complex architectural and structural drawings and ensure compliance with codes.
• Create 2D drafting and 3D assembly models using CAD software.
• Coordinate with designers, engineers, client reps, and shop fabricators to resolve issues.
• Provide technical support for prototypes and field installation teams.
