Job summary

Johnson Service Group in Southern California is seeking a Wood Crate Builder for an onsite, temp-to-hire role in the Rancho Cucamonga area. You will plan, construct and pack crates and skids for shipments of machines and components both domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities include selecting materials, operating carpentry tools, maintaining wood inventory, and verifying packing lists. A high school diploma and two years’ woodworking experience are required; forklift experience is a

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years experience constructing, maintaining and repairing wooden structures and fixtures.
• Able to use a tape measure and basic math.
• Proficient with hand and power tools and forklift operation.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepares and packs products for shipment.
• Makes all boxes, crates or skids for shipments, both standard and non-standard.
• Constructs, maintains and repairs wooden structures and fixtures.
• Operates carpentry tools such as saw, drill press, planer, sander and router.
• Checks packing list to ensure inclusion of required components and parts.
• Order wood, tools and supplies through Purchasing; maintain wood inventory.
• Apply labels to containers and manage labeling for heat treated wood.
• Assist receiving/shipping and other departments as needed.
