Job summary

The College of Forestry, Wildlife, and Environment at Auburn University invites applications for a postdoctoral Fellow to develop new wood composites using natural resource fibers. This 12‑month, non‑tenure‑track appointment is funded externally and renewable subject to funding.

Responsibilities include building a wood composite research platform, developing new ideas, writing proposals, and publishing high‑impact results.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent degree in wood science, forest bioproducts, or a closely related field at time of employment.
• Expertise with wood-based composites.
• Expertise in wood polymer composite manufacturing and characterization.
• Experience on thermally modified wood and its characterization.
• Commitment to timely completion of deliverables and publication of results.
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States (no sponsorship).

• Develop new research ideas, write research proposals, and publish high-impact research articles.
