Job summary

Veronica Beard is seeking a highly organized Product Development Assistant to support the development of women’s soft woven apparel from concept through production handoff. This entry‑level opportunity is ideal for someone eager to build a career in apparel product development within a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

You will be proactive, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities while communicating clearly with internal partners and overseas vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in Fashion Design, Product Development, Apparel Production, Merchandising, Textiles, or related field is preferred.
• Internship experience or up to 1–2 years in apparel product development, production, sourcing, or a related function preferred.
• Foundational understanding of apparel product development, garment construction, fabric, trims, and the product lifecycle; women’s apparel experience is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across time zones.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate product data, trackers, samples, and documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook; familiarity with PLM systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day product development process for women’s soft woven apparel, keeping samples, data, and deliverables organized and on schedule.
• Set up seasonal WIP templates and enter updates from overseas vendors; flag discrepancies or delays.
• Communicate clearly with overseas vendors regarding sample status and timing.
• Create and maintain product information in PLM and related systems, including BOMs.
• Build and update BOMs for repeat and expanded bodies under supervision.
• Track development samples and packages; receive, log, and distribute samples and materials.
• Prepare shipments to overseas vendors and cross‑functional partners; coordinate courier and tracking.
• Maintain an organized sample room and storage system; prepare for reviews and fittings.
• Assist with milestone meetings, organize samples, and coordinate schedules.
