Position Summary

Department: Center for OBGYN at Copeland - Downtown Orlando
Status: Full Time
Title: Advanced Practice Provider (APP), Nurse Practitioner, or Certified Nurse Midwife (ARNP)

Position Summary

The advanced practice provider manages inpatient and outpatient care, consultations, and co-management of patients in acute and practice settings.

Responsibilities

  1. Assess patients' physical and psychosocial health through interviews, examinations, and diagnostics, recognizing deviations from normal.
  2. Develop diagnoses and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to formulate and implement treatment plans.
  3. Perform surgical procedures such as wound closure, incision and drainage, debridement, and dressing, remaining in the immediate area for surgeon supervision.
  4. Scrub in with the surgeon during operations.
  5. Perform complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as credentialed.
  6. Diagnose medical and surgical issues, prescribe treatments, and manage patient care based on test results and assessments.
  7. Identify and resolve patient care issues to improve outcomes.
  8. Document all patient interactions accurately and promptly.
  9. Educate patients and provide preventive health services.
  10. Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and on-call rotations, including weekends and holidays.
  11. Prescribe medications.
  12. Contribute to quality initiatives and support clinical research activities.
  13. Maintain regular attendance and compliance with policies and standards.
  14. Serve as a resource and role model for staff, participate in teaching, and assist in policy reviews.
  15. Establish relationships with community health groups and communicate effectively with diverse populations.

Qualifications

  • MN, MSN, DNP, PhD, or DNS in nursing.
  • Certified Nurse Midwife with certification renewed every 5-8 years.
  • Active ARNP license in Florida, with national certification from an approved nursing specialty board.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a relevant specialty.
