Job summary

Unified Women’s Healthcare of the Carolinas is seeking a Maternal Fetal Medicine Nurse Practitioner to join the Women’s Health Care Center in Raleigh, NC. This full-time position offers a Monday–Friday schedule with no nights, weekends, or call shifts, and some duties may be performed from home via telehealth.

You will provide high-risk obstetric consultations in collaboration with MFM physicians, manage complex pregnancies, interpret tests, and participate in a growing diabetes co-management

Qualifications

• National Nurse Practitioner certification (or ability to obtain)
• Active NC licensure or ability to obtain
• Current DEA license or ability to obtain
• CPR/BLS/NALS certification or ability to obtain
• Proficient in assessment and treatment planning
• Ability to communicate with patients and team members
• Ability to make independent care decisions with physician supervision
• Minimum of 1 year of full-time Women’s Health NP or Physician Assistant experience in MFM

Responsibilities

• Provide high-risk obstetric consultations and pre-conception counseling in collaboration with MFM physicians
• Manage complex pregnancies to promote maternal and fetal health
• Interpret diagnostic tests and monitor patient progress
• Contribute to growing diabetes co-management program alongside endocrinologists
• Participate in consultative care model to support tertiary care and specialist collaboration
• Engage in telehealth services and in-office care as assigned

Overview

Our affiliate, Unified Women’s Healthcare of the Carolinas, is looking for a Maternal Fetal Medicine Nurse Practitioner to join their prestigious Women's Health Care Center in Raleigh, NC. Position Highlights:

• Join a thriving maternal–fetal medicine consultative practice with 2 physicians and a highly collaborative multidisciplinary team, including 2 nurse practitioners, a registered dietitian, a genetic counselor, a skilled nursing and nurse coordinator team, and a specialized team of sonographers.
• One state of the art office location in Raleigh, NC located near the UNC Rex Hospital.
• Full-Time Monday-Friday schedule with no nights, weekends, or call shifts. Some of the duties can be performed from home, including telehealth services.
• Provide high-risk obstetric consultations, including pre-conception counseling, to practice patients in collaboration with maternal-fetal medicine physicians using current ACOG/SMFM guidelines.
• Will manage complex pregnancies to promote maternal and fetal health through all stages of pregnancy.
• Conduct assessments on patients to include medical histories and risk evaluations.
• Interpret diagnostic tests such as lab results and non-stress tests.
• Growing diabetes program that specializes in co-management of pre-existing diabetes (type 1 and 2), pre-diabetes, and gestational diabetes, alongside primary referring OB providers and local endocrinologists.
• Consultative practice model designed to serve as a conduit for tertiary care centers and collaborating with specialists to improve and provide exceptional care to women and their families.

Requirements:

• National Nurse Practitioner certification or ability to obtain
• Unrestricted, active licensure in the State or ability to obtain
• Current Unrestricted DEA License or ability to obtain
• CPR, BLS, and NALS Certification or ability to obtain
• Proficient in assessment and development of treatment plans
• Ability to communicate with patients, team members and management staff
• Ability to make care decisions based on the best medical practices without direct supervision or guidance by a physician
• One year of full-time experience as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the Maternal Fetal Medicine field is required
