Job summary

Matrix Providers is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) specializing in Women’s Health to support care for Service Members and families at 633 Medical Group, Langley AFB, VA. The role is full-time, with a competitive benefits package and flexible scheduling within a Monday–Friday 0630–1800 window.

The ideal candidate holds a valid LPN/LVN license, a Certificate in Practical Nursing, and at least 1 year of outpatient clinical experience, preferably in gynecology/obstetrics.

Qualifications

• Degree: Certificate.
• Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program and accredited by CNEA.
• Experience: One year of practical or vocational nurse experience after graduation; 12 months in past 24 months; gynecology/obstetrics preferred.
• Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted LPN/LVN license.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, perform and complete assigned nursing duties for diverse patient populations.
• Complete patient care based on conditions with appropriate order sequence and document relevant information.
• Observe and respond to patient care needs, including medication, equipment-assisted care, and patient/family education.
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications and perform treatments per policies.
• Recognize urgent or emergent patient care situations and initiate appropriate interventions with RN/MD as directed.
• Assist in specialized procedures and diagnostic tests, prepare patient and equipment, monitor condition before, during and after procedures.
• Orient peers and ancillary staff to unit policies and standards of practice.
• Foster a healthy work environment to improve patient care delivery and staff satisfaction.

Matrix Providers is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse: Women’s Health to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families at 633 Medical Group, Langley Air Force Base, VA.

• Employment Status: Full-time
• Compensation: This is an hourly position, paid bi-weekly.
  • $28 /hour plus H&W $5.42
• Schedule: Services shall be provided Monday through Friday, between the hours of 0630 and 1800 hours. Shifts will normally be scheduled for nine (9) hours, to include an uncompensated sixty (60) minute meal break. In no instance will the HCW be required to provide services in excess of eighty (80) hours per two-week period.

Requirements:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN)must have and meet the following:

• Degree: Certificate.
• Education: Graduate from an accredited community college, junior college, college, university, or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by the Commission on Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA).
• Experience: One year of practical or vocational nurse experience after graduation and Practiced as an LPN performing hands‑on patient care in an outpatient clinical setting for at least 12 months within the past 24 months, experience in gynecology/obstetrics preferred.
• Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a practical or vocational nurse.

Job Summary:

• Initiate, perform and complete assigned duties in providing care to variable patient populations.
• Complete assigned patient care based on the patient's conditions, use judgment in selecting the appropriate order and sequence of procedures and treatments, and accurately recognize, report, and record relevant patient information.
• Observe, identify and respond to the patient's needs for care, including medication, equipment-assisted care, and patient/family education.
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications (oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous) and perform treatments according to established policies/procedures.
• Recognize urgent or emergent patient care situations, seek the assistance of the RN and MD/DO, and initiate appropriate emergency interventions as directed.
• Perform support duties for complex diagnostic tests and specialized practices or procedures, which include preparing the patient, assisting in the diagnostic examination, preparing and handling specialized instruments or other specialized equipment, and monitoring the patient's condition before, during, and following the procedure.
• Orient peers and ancillary personnel to unit policies and procedures, skills, and standards of practice.
