Schedule:

Various shifts available:

  • Full-Time Shifts: Saturday/Sunday 7:00am-11:00pm. Opportunity for an extra 8-hour weekday shift (not required).
  • Part-Time Shifts: Saturday and/or Sunday, 1st Shift: 7:00am-3:30pm, with opportunity for a weekday shift; 2nd Shift: 3:00pm-11:30pm, with opportunity for a weekday shift.

Pay: Starting at $17.00/hour

Type: Full-time or Part-Time

Additional Requirement: Female applicants needed for care of female clients.

Position Overview:

The Behavioral Health Technician is a vital member of the Atlanta Recovery Place (ARP) System of Care. Under supervision of the Director of Housing and Transportation, the technician ensures the complete care and wellbeing of clients, records patient behavior, and provides a safe, supportive environment. Ideal candidates are problem-solvers, can make appropriate decisions during crises, and are interested in growth within the mental health field.

Knowledge and Training:
  • Ability to interact professionally with staff and clients
  • Handle stressful and demanding situations
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledge of alcohol and drug impacts, emergency procedures, First Aid, and CPR
  • Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and additional responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a safe therapeutic environment
  • Complete incident reports and communicate with supervisors
  • Attend staff meetings and training
  • Supervise medication administration
  • Assist in daily routines and client monitoring
  • Transport clients as needed
  • Orient new clients and secure belongings
  • Perform searches for contraband and monitor client compliance
  • Take blood pressure, wash hands, observe medication adherence
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • CPR Certification preferred
  • Experience with mental health or substance abuse clients preferred but not required
