Job summary

The George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC seeks a dedicated RN with wound, ostomy and continence care expertise to join our wound care team. You will assess patients, perform debridement, mark ostomy sites, and educate patients and families while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to improve outcomes.

Applicants should have a DC RN license (or ability to obtain) and a BSN (preferred), with WOCN certification or within 12 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Wound, ostomy and continence care expertise required.
• Ability to educate patients, families and staff on wound/ostomy management.
• Experience in an acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive wound/ostomy assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Provide wound debridement and ostomy site marking.
• Educate patients, families, and staff on care and self-management.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to improve care quality and patient satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate documentation of care and progress.
• Serve as a clinical resource for wound care within the hospital.
