Position Summary:
This position is part of the WNBA Social & Digital Content team which focuses on identifying, creating, distributing, and publishing content to the WNBA social and digital platforms, specifically X, TikTok and Snapchat platforms. As the demand for content on the WNBA social platforms continues to grow, this is your opportunity to grow with us in a fast-paced, innovative, and collaborative environment, reaching social followers around the world. The ideal candidate is an active user of X platforms and products and is an expert on the on-platform features, the latest trends, and how to create optimized content for these platforms. The ideal candidate is also a Snap/TikTok expert who knows all the latest trends, how to create content for the platform and understands the platform analytics. Not only do they understand these platforms, but they also understand how to create content about the game of basketball, the WNBA players and teams, statistics, and history around the game - while maintaining a brand voice.

Major Responsibilities:

Assist in Publishing to the WNBA X channel, which includes:

• Assist with managing content for the WNBA’s X account, which includes content planning for daily and nightly live game publishing
• Focusing on WNBA storylines, as well as platform trends for publishing throughout the year
• Creating unique content around WNBA storylines and trends, which may include working with the video content creation team and content design team
• Publishing multiple pieces of content each day and/or night by writing copy, selecting hashtags, tagging appropriate accounts and using any necessary effects, filters or text over the content
• Management and delivery of all daily, weekly and monthly META requirements are met for internal and external partners
• Consistent community management to make sure X platform is engaging with and sharing content from all players, teams and brand partners
• Manage additional platform features, such as creating X Moments and assisting with X Spaces
• Assist with publishing to and tracking content apart of X Amplify monetization program
• Assist with maintaining X Lists including WNBA’s players, teams and media members
• Assist with daily and nightly content planning for each of the WNBA’s X accounts

Assist Publishing WNBA TikTok channel, which includes:

• Assist with managing content for the WNBA’s TikTok account, which includes content planning for daily and nightly publishing focusing on WNBA storylines, as well as platform trends
• Creating unique content around WNBA storylines and trends, which may include working with the video content creation team and content design team
• Publishing multiple pieces of content each day and/or night by writing copy, selecting hashtags, tagging appropriate accounts and using any necessary effects, filters or text over the content
• Analyzing metrics to optimize content to continue to increase views and engagement
• Educating internal team on top performing content and the latest trends on the platform
• Consistent community management to make sure TikTok platforms is engaging with and sharing content from all players, teams and brand partners

Assist Publishing WNBA Snap channel, which includes:

• Provide real-time game coverage by producing and publishing content for the WNBA’s nightly and weekly Snapchat Shows (this may include working days, nights, weekends and holidays)
• Collaborate with an WNBA video editor to produce the best moments from games and events by creating engaging video and adding storytelling captions
• Work with creative team to create headlines and edit photos to create eye-catching story tiles to drive viewership and contribute to ideation on a regular basis, working towards channel growth and success
• Analyze platform metrics to optimize each show’s performance, which may require updating tile images and episode titles Actively content plan for the WNBA’s weekly and nightly Snapchat Shows and related show content
• Assist with managing additional Snapchat platform features including Spotlight, AR, Stickers, Filters, Lenses, Bitmojis, Cameos, and My Story posts, for example
• Strategize, implement, and track Snapchat’s feedback, guidelines and platform updates to best increase performance metrics.

Required Education/Professional Experience:

• 3+ years of experience publishing across social and/or digital platforms
• Experience creating basketball content

Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes:

• Strong knowledge of the X, TikTok and Snapchat platforms - understanding of the landscape, way fans consume WNBA content on the platforms, all features and opportunities on each platform analytics, and Google and SEO knowledge to improve title and description creation
• Strong knowledge about the WNBA, and is passionate about the storylines surroundings its players, coaches, teams, statistics, standings, and history of the league, as well as excellent understanding of basketball stats and analytics, the rules of the game and the history of the game
• Strong understanding of the WNBA social voice
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule as this position may include working days, nights, weekends, and holidays based on the WNBA calendar
• Ability to work on deadline and handle multiple tasks at once with a precise and detail-oriented approach with commitment to accuracy and organization
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment while handling critical tasks in a composed and timely manner
• Excellent organizational and project management skills
• Great communication skills and ability execute feedback given
• Must be a team player who can work collaboratively and also take initiative, and have an insatiable curiosity of both on-platform trends and social media landscape to think innovatively and creatively

Salary Range:$70,000 - $75,000
