Job Requirements

ARDMS certification in at least one specialty. Graduate of approved program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred.

Physical Standards

Constantly: (Exists 75% or more of the time) Standing; walking; operating machinery; exposure to radiation, chemical hazards, infect hazards; repetitive bending and lifting.

Frequently: (Exists 25-75% of the time) Reaching (overhead, forward, lateral, low); stooping (bend at waist); crouching (bend at knees); kneeling; twisting; balance; lifting and carrying 0- >100 lbs. (help is available for 75 - > 100 lbs.); pushing and pulling 5-75 lbs.; exposure to moving machinery; fumes.

Occasionally: (Exists 5- 25% of the time) Pushing and pulling 40- >100 lbs. (help is available)

Rarely: (Exists < 5% of the time) Sitting w/back support; climbing; operating motor vehicles; exposure to slippery surfaces.

Sensory Requirements Visual: close paperwork, VDT used, color vision requires; Hearing: conversation, monitoring equipment, telephone, background noise; Sensory discrimination.
