Job Description Wealth Trust Services manages and serves trust relationships within the Affluent Segment. Wealth Trust Services is seeking a Senior Trust Officer responsible for managing trust and investment accounts. The Senior Trust Officer is responsible for administering, servicing, and managing risk for a portfolio of fiduciary relationships in accordance with governing documents, applicable law, U.S. Bank policies and procedures, and corporate and regulatory requirements. Assigned relationships may include revocable and irrevocable trusts, charitable trusts, special needs trusts, estates, agencies, custodial accounts, IRAs, and other fiduciary or investment accounts. This is a client-facing role requiring strong fiduciary judgment, relationship management skills, and the ability to navigate complex administrative, legal, tax, operational, and client service matters. The Senior Trust Officer serves as the primary point of contact for clients, beneficiaries, attorneys, advisors, and internal partners, ensuring relationships are administered accurately, consistently, and in alignment with fiduciary obligations and client objectives. The Senior Trust Officer is responsible for interpreting governing documents, evaluating discretionary requests, identifying and resolving fiduciary risks, coordinating specialized resources, and driving solutions for complex administrative issues. The role requires sound decision-making, effective communication, and the ability to balance client experience, regulatory requirements, operational discipline, and risk management. Senior Trust Officers work within a team-based service model, partnering closely with Portfolio Managers, Trust Associates, specialty asset teams, tax professionals, legal partners, operations teams, financial advisors, bankers, and other Wealth Management professionals to deliver integrated fiduciary solutions and a consistent client experience. The Senior Trust Officer supports relationship retention and growth by maintaining strong client and beneficiary relationships, identifying opportunities to deepen existing relationships, supporting referrals and new business activities, participating in account acceptance and transition discussions, and ensuring high-quality service delivery throughout the client lifecycle. The role also requires maintaining accurate documentation, timely system updates, data integrity, and adherence to established controls and procedures. Senior Trust Officers are expected to identify emerging fiduciary, operational, financial, and reputational risks; elevate concerns appropriately; and contribute to process improvements, technology initiatives, and business continuity efforts that enhance the effectiveness and scalability of the trust administration platform.

Core Responsibilities

• Fiduciary Administration: Administer assigned fiduciary and investment relationships in accordance with governing documents, applicable law, fiduciary standards, bank policies, and regulatory requirements. Exercise sound judgment in the interpretation and application of trust provisions and fiduciary responsibilities.
• Client and Beneficiary Experience: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, beneficiaries, attorneys, accountants, advisors, and other stakeholders. Deliver proactive, responsive, and accurate communication while addressing concerns, managing expectations, and providing a high-quality client experience.
• Complex Matter Escalation and Resolution: Evaluate and resolve complex trust administration issues, discretionary matters, beneficiary concerns, family dynamics, trust terminations, account transitions, specialty asset matters, and other sensitive situations. Coordinate with appropriate partners and document decisions consistent with fiduciary and risk management expectations.
• Risk Management and Compliance: Identify, assess, and manage fiduciary, operational, regulatory, financial, and reputational risks within assigned relationships. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, bank policies, procedures, and fiduciary standards while maintaining complete and accurate documentation.
• Relationship Retention and Growth: Support retention, asset growth, and relationship expansion efforts by monitoring relationship health, identifying client needs, participating in business development opportunities, facilitating referrals, and collaborating with Wealth Management partners to deliver additional solutions when appropriate.
• Team Based Delivery and Partner Coordination: Partner effectively with Portfolio Managers, Trust Associates, trust support teams, specialty asset teams, tax professionals, legal counsel, operations partners, financial advisors, and banking partners to deliver coordinated fiduciary services and achieve client objectives. Serve as a resource to peers and partners by sharing expertise and supporting the development of fiduciary best practices.
• Performance management information and data quality: Maintain timely and accurate account documentation, records, system updates, fiduciary reviews, service requests, correspondence, and management information. Ensure information within systems of record is complete, accurate, and current.
• Market presence and enterprise representation: Maintain an active presence with assigned teams and market. Communicate the capabilities and value of Wealth Trust Services, support strategic partnerships across Affluent Wealth Management, and represent the business in leadership forums and cross-functional discussions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Eight or more years of experience in trust administration, fiduciary services, wealth management, estate administration, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge of fiduciary administration, governing-document interpretation, trust products and services, fiduciary risk, and applicable banking and regulatory responsibilities.
• Ability to foster a high-performing client focused culture.
• Demonstrated judgment and experience resolving complex client, beneficiary, administrative, operational, or risk matters through coordinated decision-making and clear documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving and relational skills.

Desired Qualifications

• Advanced degree or applicable professional designation, such as CTFA, ATFA, CFP, or another relevant fiduciary, financial planning, legal, or risk credential.
• Extensive knowledge of fiduciary administration, trust and estate taxation, special needs trusts, charitable planning, estate settlement, fiduciary accounting, and related regulatory requirements.
• Experience with client retention, relationship growth, referral management, fiduciary administration, client care, presentation, management reporting, and process or technology change.
• Ability to influence across organizational boundaries and establish credibility with clients, beneficiaries, employees, senior leaders, attorneys, advisors, risk partners, and other internal and external stakeholders.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role.
