Job summary

Qualcomm seeks a Software Engineer to join the WLAN HAL-PHY firmware team. You will bring hands-on expertise across the full firmware lifecycle and serve as a technical anchor on design direction and silicon validation.

You will work with AI-assisted development tools, drive architectural decisions, and collaborate with chip designers, RF engineers, and hardware board engineers to deliver high-quality firmware for next-generation WLAN chipsets.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
2+ years of software engineering or related work experience.
2+ years of experience with APIs.
1+ year of work experience with Git, Perforce, or other source code management systems.

Responsibilities

Lead software architecture enhancements and re-architect firmware modules.
Write, review, and own production-quality low-level firmware in embedded environment.
Develop WLAN offload firmware on dedicated co-processor cores.
Diagnose and resolve complex WLAN/RF performance issues using test equipment.
Collaborate with chip designers, hardware engineers, and RF specialists during silicon bring-up.
Optimize firmware for maximum throughput and minimal latency.
Support customer launch and release cycles; travel to customer sites may be required.
Leverage AI-assisted workflows to generate and review code and artifacts.
