Job summary

Global Medical Staffing seeks a surgeon for 24-hour call coverage in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with duties across inpatient and outpatient settings. The role encompasses admissions and rounding on-call, requiring versatility in a broad range of surgical cases.

Ideal candidates will have general surgery expertise including adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients, with laparoscopic skills such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and hernioplasty, plus OB/GYN, breast, head/neck, and liver surgery

Qualifications

• 24-hour call shifts available and required.
• Inpatient and outpatient settings experience required.
• Adult, pediatric, and neonatal surgical skills expected.
• Laparoscopic procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty.

Responsibilities

• Provide admissions and rounding in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Perform general and GI surgical procedures as listed.
• Attend 24-hour call periods and coordinate care with teams.
• Assist with pre/postoperative care and patient documentation.

Job description

• 24‐hour shifts ‐‐ 7 am to 7 am
• 1 ‑ 10 patients seen per 24‑hour call period
• Both inpatient and outpatient settings required
• Admissions required ‑‐ rounding in both settings
• General surgery skills including adult, pediatric, and neonate
• Laparoscopic procedures ‑‐ appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty
• OB/GYN surgery, breast, head/neck, and liver surgery preferred
• GI endoscopy ‑‐ upper, lower, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy
