The primary duties of this experienced position are to lead staff and support work in construction services, project controls, and assist local design staff with constructability reviews across projects of varying complexity. Projects include supporting local transportation and construction teams, and potentially supporting national initiatives in alternative delivery, procurement, and program management. Responsibilities include staff resource management, business development, and project management (scope, schedule, budget). The Wisconsin Construction Services Lead will work under the MN / WI area Field Services Lead and the Wisconsin Transportation Program Manager.

Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Wisconsin Construction Services Lead, we’ll count on you to:

  1. Pursue and secure construction services projects, manage the work, and mentor and grow staff in the area.
  2. Monitor staffing and resources for project delivery.
  3. Oversee construction activities, resolve issues related to changes, deficiencies, and contractor performance.
  4. Maintain accurate daily records of construction site activities and produce reports on progress, safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
  5. Meet with owner representatives, contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to review progress and resolve issues.
  6. Prepare agendas for progress meetings, facilitate discussions, and document minutes accurately.
  7. Review and approve or reject submittals, RFIs, pay applications, and project schedules.
  8. Ensure proper administration and filing of project management documentation.
  9. Work on small projects or support senior staff on larger projects.
  10. Coordinate with design, procurement, and accounting teams.
  11. Perform other construction management functions as assigned.
  12. Provide plan reviews and constructability support.
  13. Support project controls teams with CPM scheduling support.
  14. Communicate regularly with project managers, field staff, and clients.
  15. Work outdoors on active construction sites.
  16. Travel throughout Wisconsin may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience managing WisDOT projects of varying size and complexity.
  2. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Primavera P6.
  3. Desire for growth and business development.
  4. LI-BC1

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  2. At least 7 years of experience.
  3. Professional registration, license, or certification as required.
  4. Strong communication and listening skills.
  5. Ability to handle multiple assignments effectively.
  6. Leadership and organizational skills.
