Program Dates: August 10 – 13, 2026 (Mon – Thu)

Reports To: Building Principal and Site Coordinator

Responsibilities
  • Assist students in transition from elementary to intermediate school
  • Develop project-based learning activities appropriate for students’ academic and language proficiency levels, covering literacy, mathematics, and science
  • Provide instructional and social‑emotional support for all students
  • Work collaboratively with grade‑level teachers and program coordinator
  • Differentiated instruction to meet academic needs of students
  • Use assessment data to plan instruction
  • Complete student progress reports as needed
  • Develop lesson plans and prepare instructional materials for individualized and small‑group instruction, submitting to Program Site Coordinator
  • Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere, fostering positive relationships with students
  • Implement the Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS) model
  • Communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss students’ progress and interpret the summer program
  • Supervise students in out-of‑classroom activities during the assigned work day
  • Perform any duties assigned by the Administrator of Student Interventions, Building Principal, or Program Site Coordinator
Qualifications
  • Massachusetts teacher certification required
  • Massachusetts SEI Teacher Endorsement preferred
  • Classroom experience at appropriate grade level
  • Prior related summer program experience preferred
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
