Job summary

Compunnel Inc. is seeking a Network Engineer with WIFI in Washington, DC (Onsite) to lead design, deployment, and optimization of enterprise data center networks. You will configure Cisco ACI, manage spine-leaf fabrics, APIC, DNAC, and ISE while coordinating with security and virtualization teams.

A strong background in routing/switching and wireless networking is required. Ideal candidates have 7–10 years of hands-on experience, multi-vendor network awareness, and a proven ability to manage

Qualifications

• Must have Cisco WIFI implementation experience.
• Extensive experience configuring and customizing Cisco APIC controller.
• 7–10 years hands-on experience in planning and designing switching solutions for large enterprises.
• Subject matter expertise with Cisco Unified Wireless Networking (802.11 standards, LWAPP, CAPWAP, WLCs, Prime Infrastructure, ISE, DNAC).
• Know-how in multi-vendor Layer2/Layer3 environments (Cisco, CheckPoint, Palo Alto, F5, Pulse Secure, Citrix VPN).
• Knowledge of Cisco device configuration and troubleshooting across platforms.
• Expertise in external Layer2/3 fabric connectivity and switching architecture design.
• Understanding of routing protocols (EIGRP, static, BGP) and large-scale networks.
• Familiarity with devices: switches, routers, cables, racks, firewalls, LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, QoS, LDAP, IPsec.

Responsibilities

• Devise plan designs and migrations for enterprise data center networks from design to implementation.
• Design, implement, and maintain Cisco ACI in data center environments.
• Configure ACI fabric (spine-leaf, APIC, fabric discovery).
• Create tenants, VRFs, bridge domains, app profiles, EPGs, and contracts.
• Integrate ACI with external networks, VMware vCenter, and firewalls.
• Design, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise routing and switching (Catalyst, Nexus).
• Deploy and troubleshoot wireless networks with WLCs and APs and enforce policies.
• Configure ISE for network access control and posture assessments.
• Implement DNAC for automation, assurance, provisioning and policy management.
• Collaborate with security teams on segmentation and access control.
• Maintain network documentation and runbooks.
• Provide Tier 3 support and escalation for complex issues.
• Optimize wireless coverage in high-density areas.
• Produce LL/HL design, migration plans, and test plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Devise plan design deploys and migrate to new enterprise data center network systems from the beginning to implementation by collaborating with different teams.
• Design, implement, and maintain Cisco ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure) in data center environments.
• Configure ACI fabric including spine-leaf topology, APIC controllers, and fabric discovery.
• Create and manage tenants, VRFs, bridge domains, application profiles, endpoint groups (EPGs), and contracts.
• Integrate ACI with external Layer2/Layer3 networks, virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware vCenter), and firewalls.
• Design, Configure, and troubleshoot enterprise-level Routing & Switching using Cisco technologies (Catalyst, Nexus, etc.).
• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot wireless networks using Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs), access points, and policy enforcement.
• Configure and maintain Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE) for network access control, profiling, posture assessments, and policy enforcement.
• Implement and manage Cisco DNA Center (DNAC) for network automation, assurance, provisioning, and policy-based management.
• Collaborate with security teams to integrate network security practices including segmentation and access control.
• Maintain detailed documentation including network diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Provide Tier 3 support and act as an escalation point of complex network issues.
• Optimize wireless network coverage and performance in high-density wireless client areas by reviewing current wireless system configurations.
• Create Low Level Design, High Level Design, Implementation, Migration Plan, and Acceptance Test Plan documents in accordance with client standards.
• Write manuals and documents of all tasks and procedures.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and make recommendations for improvements.
• Solve complex problems with many variables.

Qualification

• Must have Cisco WIFI implementation experience.
• Extensive experience in configuring and customizing Cisco APIC controller.
• At least seven to ten years of hands-on experience with planning and designing switching network solutions and migrations for large enterprises.
• Subject matter expertise with Cisco Unified Wireless Networking including 802.11b/g/n/ac/ax, LWAPP, CAPWAP, WLCs, Prime Infrastructure, Cisco ISE, Cisco DNAC.
• Good understanding of complex multi-vendor layer 2/3 environments including Cisco, CheckPoint, Palo Alto, F5, Pulse Secure, and Citrix VPN.
• Knowledge of Cisco device configuration and troubleshooting across multiple platforms.
