Job summary

Panatrol in the Chicago area is seeking a Wiring Technician to assemble and wire control panels, read schematics, and work with 480VAC, 120VAC, and 24VDC. This hands-on role focuses on precision, safety, and reliable panel wiring.

Based in Chicago, you’ll maintain clean work areas, use handheld tools, and collaborate with a team to deliver quality electrical controls for large-scale projects.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean job site/work area and manage tools to reduce hazards.
• Assemble panels and install key components using various tools.
• Read schematics to assemble and wire devices onto control panels and run/terminate wires.
• Cut, tag, and run wire according to shop schematics.
• Work with 480VAC, 120VAC, and 24VDC power/control circuits.
• Wire industrial control panels per engineered schematics and layout drawings.

About the role

As a Wiring Technician with Panatrol, you'll be at the core of wiring control panels that help keep our systems running smoothly. What You’ll Do:

• Maintain a clean job site/work area; pick up all tools and equipment each day to eliminate potential hazards.


• Uses a variety of tools to assist in assembling panels for the installation of key components.


• Reads schematics to assemble and install devices onto control panels and run and terminate wires according to company standards.


• Cut, tag, and run wire according to shop schematics.


• Works with typical power and control circuits including 480VAC, 120VAC, and 24VDC.


• Wires industrial control panels per engineered schematics and layout drawings.


• Maintain a neat and clean appearance and motivated, positive attitude.


• Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed, brings problems to the attention of the Safety Department.


• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Previous Control Panel Wiring experience (at least 2 years)


• Ability to read and understand layout drawings


• Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams and wiring schematics


• Familiar with small handheld tools
