Job summary

Panatrol in the Chicago area seeks a hands-on Wiring Technician to join our team. You will wire control panels, read schematics, and install components to keep our systems running reliably.

Based in Chicago, this role offers opportunities to grow electrical and controls expertise within a precise, safety‑driven environment. You will work on 480VAC, 120VAC, and 24VDC circuits while maintaining quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of control panel wiring experience.
• Ability to read and understand layout drawings.

• Familiar with small handheld tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean job site and organize tools daily.
• Assemble panels and install key components per drawings.
• Read schematics and install devices on control panels; wire per standards.
• Cut, tag, and route wires following shop schematics.
• Work with 480VAC, 120VAC, and 24VDC control circuits.
• Wires panels per engineered schematics and layouts.
• Maintain neat appearance and positive attitude.
• Follow safety procedures and report issues to Safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

As a Wiring Technician with Panatrol, you'll be at the core of wiring control panels that help keep our systems running smoothly. What You'll Do

• Maintain a clean job site/work area; pick up all tools and equipment each day to eliminate potential hazards.
• Uses a variety of tools to assist in assembling panels for the installation of key components.
• Reads schematics to assemble and install devices onto control panels and run and terminate wires according to company standards.
• Cut, tag, and run wire according to shop schematics.
• Works with typical power and control circuits including 480VAC, 120VAC, and 24VDC.
• Wires industrial control panels per engineered schematics and layout drawings.
• Maintain a neat and clean appearance and motivated, positive attitude.
• Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed, brings problems to the attention of the Safety Department.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous Control Panel Wiring experience (at least 2 years)
• Ability to read and understand layout drawings
• Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams and wiring schematics
• Familiar with small handheld tools
