Job summary

E-Space in Arlington, TX is seeking a Wireless Test Engineer to lead the test environment and strategy for 3GPP-based wireless features, focusing on PHY and protocol stack verification for LTE and 5G NR. The role involves developing automated test suites, analyzing logs, and coordinating with SW/FW/RF teams to ensure high-reliability space-ground deployments.

The position is full-time and based in our Arlington office, with compensation determined by experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on test engineering experience in wireless technology.
• Experience testing 3GPP Stack and PHY systems, with LTE and preferably 5G NR.
• Proficiency in Python scripting (or equivalent) with familiarity in C.
• Practical experience using wireless test and measurement tools such as Amarisoft, Viavi, Propsim, Spirent, Keysight, Rohde & Schwarz.
• Experience with issue-tracking systems (e.g., Jira) and structured test processes.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain the scripting and automation environment around wireless test setups (lab and HIL).
• Derive, design, and implement test cases for 3GPP Stack and PHY-level features (LTE and preferably 5G NR).
• Develop Python scripts to automate test execution, log collection, and result analysis; contribute light C code where needed.
• Perform software regression testing to validate new features, bug fixes, and releases.
• Analyze test logs and pcap files to perform detailed failure analysis, identify root causes, and provide clear remediation recommendations.
• Use wireless measurement and channel emulation equipment (e.g., Amarisoft, Viavi, Propsim, Spirent, Keysight, Rohde & Schwarz) to execute and debug test scenarios.
• Track defects and issues using an issue-tracking system such as Jira, driving them through the full lifecycle with clear, reproducible descriptions.
• Prepare and deliver concise test reports, maintain test repositories, and contribute to continuous improvement of test coverage and quality processes.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (SW, FW, RF, systems, product) to ensure testability is designed into new features from the outset.
