Apple’s Wireless System Engineering team is looking for an engineer to work on radiated system characterization across different connectivity technologies (WLAN, BT, UWB, GNSS) for Apple’s wireless products.
**Description**
- Validating OTA test cases for different carrier and industry conformance requirements in certification test setups.
- Translating industry conformance/regulatory/carrier specification requirements into test cases. Coordinating with regulatory compliance/carrier management teams to ensure product validation covers all certification/performance tests.
- Define and execute validation plans for custom SW features.
- Debugging marginal/failure tests with multi-functional teams like RFHW/Antenna/ Product Design/EE/etc. and drive design changes to address issues.
- Maintain test setups via periodic checks, calibration, etc.
- Drive planning and implement final certification testing at 3rd party test labs for PTCRB/CTIA/CWG testing.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in EE or equivalent with 3+ years of relevant work experience.
+ Working experience of antenna design and tests, anechoic chambers, and RF test equipment. Hands-on is a must.
+ Proven understanding in RF component characteristics and behavior.
+ Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
+ Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to multitask across various subject areas and tasks.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Master’s Degree in EE or equivalent with 3+ years of relevant work experience.
+ Understanding of PHY Layer and MAC/application layer is highly desired, proficiency at MATLAB simulations.
+ Solid understanding of at least one wireless technology including IEEE 802.11, Bluetooth, GNSS, LTE, GSM, UMTS, or CDMA.
+ Programming/scripting skills would be a plus.
**Pay & Benefits**
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
