Information security and network reliability are at the core of your thought processes.

Flexible working
Amazon encourages open communication about unique needs for flexible arrangements.
The team operates a follow-the-sun on-call rotation, with a frequency of one week on call in every five weeks. The rotation is day-time only during working hours Monday to Sunday, with handoffs between the India, Dublin, and North America (NA) teams. The on-call engineer represents the Network Reliability team during events with customer impact in production and coordinates efforts to quickly mitigate customer impact across these regions.

We care about your career aspirations and tailor your development to your unique abilities. We want you to grow and progress in Amazon. We will facilitate your growth through an increase in scope of the projects you work on over time, and include in projects for partner teams to experience new and interesting challenges. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work on operational readiness, software development and testing, driving operational excellence and cross-cutting initiatives among others.

Key job responsibilities:

  3. Define and meter the availability of our existing and future network solutions, ensuring they meet or exceed the needs of our customers.
  4. Identify and deliver solutions that reduce operational impact to customers and enable them with scalable, resilient, and cost optimized services.
  5. Dive Deep on complex problems that identify root causes of our customer impacts, developing and delivering corrective actions.
  6. Evaluating new technologies, lab testing, proof of concept (PoC), run books definition, and pilot deployment.
  7. Innovate and automate infrastructure testing, deployment, operations, and life cycle management.
  8. Defining the strategy for future team processes, tools, and practices that improve how we maintain and manage them effectively, efficiently, and safely.
  9. Be a part of Global organization that provides 24x7 escalation service on shift rotation basis. Some night and weekend coverage may be required.
  10. Effectively contribute to hiring and developing top talent at Amazon.
  11. Develop automation to resolve wireless network failures.
  12. Investigate challenging problems to identify root cause and make recommendations for improving the customers experience on Wifi.
  13. Create and update the wireless network design to improve reliability.
  14. Mitigate and Solve Network Availability Risks.
  15. Partner with peer networking teams on overall network design to provide feedback and improvements from the wireless network perspective.
  16. Participate in an on call rotation.
  17. Implement metrics to measure wireless availability and identify performance risks.
