Come join a creative team of Operations Technology Engineers that builds the wired and wireless networks that power Amazon fulfillment centers and transportation sites worldwide. These networks are used by hundreds of thousands of associates, relied upon by operators of industry-leading fulfillment and transportation systems, and play a critical role in the delivery of shipments to Amazon retail customers.
We are looking for Network Development Engineers to provide technical thought leadership in the design of our next-generation networks. As we look to the future, our networks will support an ecosystem of robotics, industrial IoT, sensors, drones, and mobile devices. You are comfortable with making data motivated decisions, and iterating on designs that may fail at the outset to ultimately deliver robust systems that elegantly scale. Information security and network reliability are at the core of your thought processes.
Flexible working

The team operates a follow-the-sun on-call rotation, with a frequency of one week on call in every five weeks. The rotation is day-time only during working hours Monday to Sunday, with handoffs between the India, Dublin, and North America (NA) teams. The on-call engineer represents the Network Reliability team during events with customer impact in production and coordinates efforts to quickly mitigate customer impact across these regions.

A day in the life:
In this role you will operate the largest fulfillment network in the world, and provide guidance and mentoring to network support teams to develop their skills and reinforce best practices. Network reliability is critical to Amazon Operations, and your responsibilities will include driving root cause resolution of network events most impactful to the business.

- 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl experience
- 5+ years practical relevant experience -Wifi or other managed RF networks operations and engineering
- Deep understanding of IP network fundamentals and packet capture analysis -Analytical skills
- 4+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl experience
- Experience designing high-density AP and client deployments -Expert knowledge of IP networking technologies and concepts, including routing and switching
- Expert in managing large scale wireless deployments with high availability requirements

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
