Job summary

Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC), part of Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies, seeks a Network Analyst to design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructure for critical national security systems. You will collaborate with senior staff on projects spanning LAN/WAN/Wi‑Fi/VoIP and security controls.

Requirements include 2+ years in networking administration, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, ability to travel, and eligibility for DOE clearance as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with at least 24 semester hours of computer-related courses or two additional years of equivalent work experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Two or more years of networking administration experience.
  • Ability to travel as determined by the business needs.
  • Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance if required.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, manage, and monitor daily network operations to maintain wireless network effectiveness.
  • Participate in incident, asset, change management, and continuous improvement of network systems.
  • Collaborate with cyber security to maintain system security measures and documentation.
  • Maintain complex firewall configurations and policies.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues before they become critical.
  • Keep current with advances in networking technologies for improvements.
  • Partner with Sr. Network Analyst to evaluate networking processes and tools.
  • Lead planning and execution of small infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate with project delivery to support project completion.
  • Create/update wireless network and cable plant documentation per standards.

Summary

Summary: This position is responsible for collaborating with senior network personnel to provide network infrastructure that is available, stable, and secure. This includes the evaluation, design, selection, purchase, installation, configuration, and maintenance of network systems, hardware, and software. This position is responsible for leading small projects for network design, development, integration, and/or enhancement. Networks consist of LAN, WAN, WLAN, VoIP, and associated communications systems.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Configure, manage, and monitor daily network operations to maintain and increase wireless network effectiveness.
  • Participate in incident management, asset management, change management, and continuous improvement of network systems.
  • Work with cyber security to maintain and monitor system security measures as well as assisting with computer security plans and documentation.
  • Maintain and operate complex firewall configurations and policies.
  • Identify and help resolve issues proactively before they become critical.
  • Remain aware of advances and current thinking in areas of responsibility and identify ways to apply latest technologies for improvement to network effectiveness.
  • Partners with Sr. Network Analyst to evaluate and recommend networking processes, tools, and/or software to be used in satisfying business and IT operational needs.
  • Utilize established processes for leading the planning and execution of small infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate work with project delivery organization to support the successful completion of projects.
  • Create and/or update wireless network systems and cable plant documentation in various systems per established processes and standards.
You Must Have
  • Bachelors degree in the field of Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering or Physical Science with a minimum of 24 semester hours of computer related courses or two additional years of equivalent work experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Two or more years of networking administration experience.
  • Ability to travel as determined by the needs of the business.
  • Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • United States Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).
