Amazon Leo is seeking a Wireless Embedded Software Developer to join the MAC-SW team. You will deliver embedded firmware for ground networks and satellites, and collaborate cross-functionally to meet performance targets.

The role focuses on designing, developing, integrating and bringing up Leo-MAC FW components in a real-time embedded setting. The candidate will work on cutting-edge wireless tech, contribute to services, and ensure robust FW-HW interfaces while following best practices in code

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software language.

Project Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

As a member of Leo MAC-SW, you will be responsible for delivering embedded FW code running on ground networks on customer terminals and on satellites. You will be a key member of a cross functional team of innovators, working on unique wireless technology that will enable millions of people to stay connected. Design, develop, integrate and bring up Leo-MAC FW components/drivers in a real-time embedded environment.

Export Control Requirement

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key job responsibilities

• Working in a cross-functional environment to define multi-dimensional performance requirements (e.g., MIPs, memory BW)
• Make performance and optimization trade-offs to meet end-to-end use case requirement
• Build component use-cases/test-cases and debug your code in Leo embedded environment
• Profile and execute the code on RTOS and/or bare-metal embedded environment
• Contribute in defining services and functionalities delivered by your FW-subsystems
• Define, document, test and debug your FW-HW interfaces
• Familiarity with SW/FW best practices (e.g., clean architecture, refactoring, …)

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
