Position Summary
The Wireless Architect will design, implement, and evolve enterprise wireless network solutions that deliver secure, reliable, scalable, and high-performing connectivity. This role will provide technical leadership across wireless architecture, network design, deployment, optimization, and troubleshooting.
The Wireless Architect will work closely with network engineering, security, infrastructure, application, and business teams to develop wireless solutions that align with organizational requirements and long-term technology strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop enterprise wireless network architectures supporting corporate, campus, branch, warehouse, and other environments.
- Define wireless standards, architecture principles, technology roadmaps, and deployment strategies.
- Design highly available and scalable Wi‑Fi solutions, including RF planning, channel utilization, capacity planning, roaming, and interference mitigation.
- Evaluate and recommend wireless technologies, platforms, products, and vendors based on business and technical requirements.
- Develop detailed high-level and low-level wireless network designs, standards, diagrams, and implementation documentation.
- Lead wireless network deployments, upgrades, migrations, and technology refresh initiatives.
- Perform wireless assessments, RF surveys, predictive modeling, and post-deployment validation.
- Establish and maintain wireless configuration standards, security policies, and operational best practices.
- Develop standards and reference architectures to ensure consistency across wireless deployments.
- Support incident escalation and provide advanced troubleshooting for complex wireless issues.
- Maintain awareness of emerging wireless technologies and industry trends and recommend opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure wireless solutions meet applicable security, availability, performance, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 7+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise wireless networks.
- Strong understanding of RF fundamentals, wireless propagation, interference, spectrum utilization, and capacity planning.
- Extensive experience with enterprise Wi‑Fi architecture and large-scale wireless deployments.
- Experience with wireless LAN controllers, cloud‑managed wireless platforms, and enterprise access points.
- Strong understanding of enterprise networking concepts including TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, routing, switching, QoS, and network segmentation.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical architectures.
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation, network diagrams, standards, and implementation plans.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on the computer.
- Occasional walking between facilities
- Occasional lifting pushing, pulling up to 15 lbs.
