Job summary

Cathay Bank in Rosemead, CA is seeking a detail‑oriented Wire Transfer Specialist to support daily wire processing and related operations. You will handle Payplus and SWIFT transactions, maintain logs, and assist with investigations to ensure accurate and timely funds movements.

Requirements include a high school diploma (some college preferred) and prior banking experience in wire transfer processing. Strong typing, math, and communication skills are essential for success.

Responsibilities

• Operate SWIFT system and process SWIFT messages.
• Input outgoing wires with accuracy.
• Assist with wire investigations.
• Track wires from Branches/Departments and research disputes.
• Distribute Incoming SWIFT messages to internal departments.
• Maintain daily production logs.
• Process various wire requests in PEGA automation system.
• Record statistics for assigned functions.
• Ensure SWIFT MT950s & MT942 sent daily.
• End-of-Day balancing.
• Input wire on Fedline Advantage as needed.
• Work variable hours to accommodate workflow.

Under supervision and following established policies and department procedures operate various fund transfers and communication computer systems as described in Essential Functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Operate Payplus wire application and process funds transfers (incoming and outgoing).
• Operate SWIFT system and process various types of SWIFT messages.
• Input outgoing wires on Payplus and SWIFT applications with the highest degree of accuracy.
• Assist with wire investigations.
• Track wires received from Branches or Departments, research disputes.
• Distribute Incoming SWIFT messages to internal departments.
• Ensure accurate maintenance of daily production logs.
• Assist with filing.
• Process various wire requests in PEGA automation system.
• Record statistics for assigned job functions.
• Ensure SWIFT MT950s & MT942 statements are sent daily.
• Perform End-of-Day balancing.
• Input wire on Fedline Advantage, as needed.
• Work variable hours which may be adjusted to accommodate workflow.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: High School graduate. Some college preferred.
• Experience: Previous banking experience in wire transfer processing environment preferred.
• Skills/Ability: PC proficient, type minimum 50 wpm, and ten-key by touch. Good math skills. Detail oriented with high emphasis on accuracy. Ability to communicate effectively with Bank team members as well as Correspondent Bank employees.

OTHER DETAILS

$25.10 - $26.83 / hour
Pay determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
