Job summary

Davis Wire in Kent, WA seeks a Machine Operator to operate large industrial machinery for drawing, coiling, and producing wire products. Training on day shift with a transition to overnight shift after a 90-day probation, with union environment and strict safety protocols.

The role requires physical stamina, comfort around heat and heavy materials, and the ability to work on multiple lines while following production schedules. Onsite, permanent position with potential weekend work and overtime.

Qualifications

• Experience operating industrial or manufacturing machinery in a production environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to learn and operate large, complex machines.
• High safety awareness in heat-heavy, noise-prone settings.
• Willingness to work at heights and around moving equipment.
• Good physical stamina for standing, bending, lifting, and manual handling.
• Team player with reliable attendance and strong communication.
• Experience in unionized manufacturing environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate production machinery to draw, coil, and manufacture wire products per specifications.
• Move between machines and operate multiple production lines as needed.
• Read and follow production schedules to meet daily/weekly output targets.
• Monitor machines, identify issues, and maintain product quality and equipment performance.
• Collaborate with colleagues, supervisors, and maintenance to troubleshoot problems.
• Follow safety procedures including lockout/tagout and wear protective equipment.
• Maintain a clean, hazard-free work area and safe handling of heavy materials.
• Be adaptable to shifts, overtime, and potential weekend work.
