Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Wire Harness Technician for a first-shift contract position based in Madison Heights, MI. You will build and maintain electrical system benches, update parts, and assemble wire harnesses for instruments and automated testing.

You will resolve bench wiring issues, calibrations, and hardware updates while coordinating with cross-functional teams to keep benches fully operational. onsite work only.

Qualifications

• Experience building wire harnesses and electrical panels.
• Ability to use multiple tools to access schematics/retrofits.
• Soldering on board-level, connectors, and harnesses.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain electrical system/Infotainment benches.
• Update parts and perform part swaps as needed.
• Assemble wire harnesses for instruments and automated testing.
• Resolve bench wiring issues, hardware updates, and software/calibration flashing.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and relay unresolved issues.
• Maximize runtime on assets and document work accurately.
• Verify benches operate without hardware or instrumentation issues.
• Work with teams to ensure benches are updated and operable.

Wire Harness Technician - 1st Shift

Job Description

• Build and maintain new and existing Electrical system/Infotainment subsystem benches.
• Updating physical parts and change out parts
• Build wire harnesses for instruments and automated testing.
• Resolve issues related to bench wiring, hardware updates, and software/calibration flashing.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and act as a liaison for unresolved issues.
• Maximize runtime on all assets and document work appropriately.
• Verify and validate that the benches are operational and configured without hardware or instrumentation issues.
• Work with teams to resolve issues quickly and ensure benches are fully updated and operable.

Requirements

• Experience as a technician (building wire harness, panel assembly, etc.) working on electrical-related parts and components.
• Ability to work on different tools set to access contents required for schematics/retrofit etc..
• Soldering skills (board level, connectors, and harnesses).
• Knowledge of various automotive connectors, terminals, locks, crimping tools.
• Strong communication skills: including the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively, both multi-functionally and cross-culturally.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
