About the Team:
Lorien has an exciting opportunity to join our Defense Technology client's team working on next-generation autonomous flight systems. In this role, you'll work closely with program leadership and partner across multiple departments, tackling difficult technical problems as part of a team focused on reshaping the industry. You'll take ownership of integrating subsystems, supporting test execution, and ensuring systems perform to spec.
Responsibilities:
- Build and modify cable and wire harness assemblies for both prototype and production use
- Diagnose and repair issues in electrical systems, electronic components, and integrated circuits down to the component level
- Run full test plans using benchtop equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, signal generators) to confirm PCB and system-level performance
- Handle detailed PCB rework and assembly work
- Flag process gaps, recurring issues, and layout or documentation improvements back to engineering
- Support upkeep and upgrades of the HITL setup and engineering vehicle fleet
- Keep test equipment calibrated and properly maintained
- Maintain a clean, safety-first work environment
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ yearselectronics technician work in an R&D setting
- Comfortable reading schematics for electrical systems and components
- Understanding of the product development lifecycle, including reliability and compliance testing
- Hands-on experience with test equipment such as power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, function generators, and data acquisition/measurement tools
- Sharp root-cause analysis instincts
- Strong communication skills across written, verbal, and interpersonal contexts
- Able to shift between competing priorities in a fast-moving environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Technologies, or a related field
- Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-610, IPC-620, J-STD) and related inspection/assembly practices
- Background in high-voltage/high-power, such as propulsion inverters or battery systems
- Experience with equipment calibration and metrology
- Understandingofelectrical compliance (e.g., EMI/EMC)
