Responsibilities

  • Assemble, integrate, and test avionics hardware, electrical subsystems, and flight electronics.
  • Install and route wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, connectors, and electrical components.
  • Support spacecraft and payload integration activities, including sensor, communications, and power system installation.
  • Perform electrical checkout, continuity verification, functional testing, and troubleshooting of integrated systems.
  • Build hardware from engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Support vehicle bring-up, hardware validation, environmental testing, and mission readiness activities.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, avionics, and integration issues at the component, subsystem, and system level.
  • Assist with prototype development, qualification units, and flight hardware builds.
  • Maintain accurate build records and support configuration-controlled manufacturing processes.
  • Partner with engineering teams to identify integration improvements and resolve hardware issues.

As we continue to scale our engineering and manufacturing operations, we are seeking an Avionics Technician to support the integration, testing, and troubleshooting of flight hardware and electrical systems.

About the Role

This is a highly hands-on position focused on spacecraft and avionics integration, electrical assembly, harness installation, and system-level testing. You will work closely with Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Integration, and Test Engineers to build and validate complex aerospace hardware from prototype through flight-ready systems. The ideal candidate enjoys working directly on hardware, thrives in a fast-paced development environment, and takes pride in producing high-quality work that directly contributes to mission success.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble, integrate, and test avionics hardware, electrical subsystems, and flight electronics.
  • Install and route wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, connectors, and electrical components.
  • Support spacecraft and payload integration activities, including sensor, communications, and power system installation.
  • Perform electrical checkout, continuity verification, functional testing, and troubleshooting of integrated systems.
  • Build hardware from engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Support vehicle bring-up, hardware validation, environmental testing, and mission readiness activities.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in aerospace, defense, aviation, space, robotics, or complex electromechanical manufacturing environments.
  • Experience assembling, integrating, and testing electrical or avionics systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and assembly instructions.
  • Experience with wire termination, connector assembly, crimping, cable routing, and harness installation.
  • Familiarity with electrical test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, continuity testers, and power supplies.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical and electromechanical systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced engineering environment with evolving requirements.
Required Skills

Preferred Skills
  • Experience supporting spacecraft, satellite, launch vehicle, aerospace, or defense programs.
  • Familiarity with avionics integration, communications systems, power distribution hardware, or embedded electronics.
  • Experience with MIL-spec wiring, connectors, harness construction, and aerospace assembly standards.
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or equivalent certifications.
  • Experience supporting environmental testing, qualification testing, or flight hardware campaigns.
  • Experience working in prototype, R&D, or new-product-development environments.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain eligibility to work on U.S. Government programs.
