Job summary

ALSO in Palo Alto, CA is seeking an Electronics Mechanical Integration Engineer to design actuators and electromechanical systems for next‑gen light EVs. You will design, test, and iterate with a hands‑on approach in a lab, coordinating with contract manufacturers to scale components for mass production.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree, strong CAD skills (CATIA preferred), and experience with PCBA/flex integration, DFMs, and prototyping.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in design and development of electromechanical systems (wireless comms and audio features).
  • Strong CAD skills with CATIA preferred and 2D drafting proficiency.
  • Experience with PCBA/flex integration, connector selection, and wire harness design.
  • Hands‑on prototyping and fabrication incl. machining, 3D printing, assembly.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test onboard connectivity electronics for light EV platforms.
  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D drawings, ensure manufacturability.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers to define interfaces and integrate PCBAs, flex circuits, and wire harnesses.
  • Develop and execute test plans, including FEA and physical testing.
  • Prototype and iterate designs in a lab environment for rapid prototyping.
  • Coordinate with contract manufacturers to oversee mass production of components.
  • Support product launches with technical input and transition from development to production.

What You Will Do
  • Design, develop, and test onboard connectivity electronics for integration into light electric vehicle platforms.
  • Create and maintain detailed 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings for components and assemblies, ensuring design for manufacturability.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers to define electromechanical interfaces, integrate PCBAs, flex circuits, and wire harnesses into electromechanical systems, ensuring seamless functionality and reliability.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, including FEA and physical testing, to validate design performance and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Prototype and iterate on designs using hands-on fabrication techniques in a lab environment, rapidly turning concepts into functional prototypes.
  • Work closely with contract manufacturers to oversee the production of components, ensuring quality control and adherence to design specifications for mass production processes like stamping, forging, casting, and injection molding.
  • Participate in the product launch process, providing technical support and ensuring smooth transition from development to production.
What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in the design and development of electromechanical systems, particularly those involving wireless communications and audio features.
  • Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (CATIA preferred) and 2D drafting.
  • Experience with PCBA / flex integration, connector selection and wire harness design.
  • Hands-on experience in prototyping and fabrication techniques, including machining, 3D printing, and assembly.
  • Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) principles and experience with mass production processes (stamping, forging, casting, injection molding).
  • Experience in product launch and working with contract manufacturers.

The salary for this position ranges from $220,000 to $250,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
