Job description

Temperature Specialists, Inc. is a manufacturer of custom, high-accuracy temperature sensors used in industrial and laboratory applications worldwide. We are hiring a Wire Harness Assembler to join our Leads Department — a team of 4 to 7 assemblers responsible for producing the precision wire lead assemblies that go into every sensor we make.

In this production assembly role, you will cut, strip, twist, tin, and solder individual wire leads using both automated equipment and hand tools, and perform close detail work under a microscope. The wire lead assemblies you produce feed directly into our downstream sensor assembly departments. This is steady, focused work that rewards people who take pride in consistent, accurate output. No prior experience is required — we provide comprehensive in-house training. A background in assembly, electronics, wire work, or any detail-oriented manufacturing is a plus.

What you'll do
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and assembly instructions to produce wire leads accurately to specification
  • Operate wire stripping machines to strip leads to specified lengths and configurations
  • Cut wires to specified lengths using hand tools and cutting equipment
  • Twist and tin wire leads by hand and with tooling to prepare them for soldering and assembly
  • Perform soldering operations to join wire leads and sensor components, producing clean, reliable connections to quality standards
  • Perform close detail work under a microscope to inspect and assemble small wire lead components
  • Use dimensional measuring equipment to verify wire and component specifications
  • Inspect finished wire lead assemblies for quality and consistency before handoff to downstream departments
  • Document production output and log completed work orders; maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Work collaboratively within the Leads Department team to meet daily production goals
What we're looking for
  • Good fine motor skills and manual dexterity — you'll be working with small wire components and hand tools throughout your shift
  • Ability to perform sustained close-focus work, including under a microscope
  • Strong attention to detail and a consistent commitment to quality in a production environment
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints, work orders, and written assembly instructions accurately
  • Collaborative attitude and comfort working within a larger team
  • Prior experience in assembly, wire harness work, electronics assembly, or soldering is preferred but not required — all technical skills are developed through our in-house training program
A note on the work

This role is a good fit for someone who likes focused, hands-on work and finds satisfaction in producing something tangible and precise. You'll be part of a team, but much of the day-to-day work is individual — stripping, tinning, soldering, and inspecting leads with care. If you've enjoyed detailed hand work in any context — whether in electronics, crafts, previous assembly jobs, or similar — this is a role worth considering.

  • Join an established team of 4 to 7 assemblers in a collaborative department environment
  • Comprehensive in-house training — no prior wire harness or soldering experience required
  • Stable, full-time position with a specialty manufacturer of precision custom-engineered products
  • Opportunity to develop in-demand skills in wire assembly, soldering, and precision electronics assembly
