Job summary

Southwire Company is seeking a Drawing 2 Operator to coordinate, set up, and operate the drawing machine to fabricate copper wire from feeder stock. The role requires setting up gear, checking wire sizes and lengths, and ensuring continuous production with proper welds and packaging.

The position includes a night shift (6:50PM - 7:00AM) with a pay rate of $28.50–$30.33 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, and speak English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Must be able to stand and lift heavy loads for long periods of time.
• Must lift up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and operate the multiwire drawing machine.
• Run correct wire sizes and lengths per production order.
• Load/unload bobbins/reels and manage take-up/pay-off changes.
• Make high quality welds in feeder stock to keep machine running.
• Maintain a properly wound take-up package and daily WIP tags.
