Job summary

Crescent Electric Supply Co. is seeking a capable RDC Warehouse & Value-Added Services Associate in Altoona, IA. You will perform core and advanced warehouse activities, including inventory processing, data entry, forklift operation, wire cutting, and auditing orders to ensure accurate quantities and condition.

You will load, unload, pick, and relocate wire and pipe, train peers, perform cycle counts, and use RF scanners to streamline operations. Join a team focused on accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Requires Warehouse Level I & II Certification within 60 days of hire.
• Ability to read cut tags and cut comments.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and pick materials using vehicle cube and route orientation.

Schedule:

• Monday - Friday


• 9:00am - 5:30pm

As the RDC Warehouse & Value-Added Services Associate at Crescent Electric, you will perform core and advanced warehouse activities; including, but not limited to, manual and clerical inventory processing, data entry, forklift operation, cut wire and pick conduit, and/or audit orders to check and inspect cartons to reflect accurate quantity and condition for completeness. In this role, you will complete warehouse and wire cutting activities with a high level of efficiency, accuracy, and precision.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Load, unload, and pick utilizing vehicle cube effectively and according to specific route/stop orientation. Load pipe on trucks for delivery. Receive, pick, relocate, and put away wire and pipe.


• Process problem cartons and resolve identified discrepancies.


• Train and coach associates in basic procedures and techniques.


• Take necessary steps to prepare merchandise for inventory and distribution.


• Inspect merchandise visually to determine disposition, as needed.


• Utilize various pieces of material handling equipment (MHE) including pallet movers, stand up forklifts, high lift reach trucks, and order picker.


• Utilize RF scanners to electronically perform warehouse activities.


• Perform one or more stock handling tasks; including, but not limited to, pack, unpack, band, weigh, and assemble merchandise.


• Assist with additional warehouse activities; including, but not limited to, shipping, receiving, put-away, inventory, and outbound processing audits, as needed.


• Perform cycle count activities, as needed.


• Restock shelves of picking error material from previous days business.


• Perform wire cutting using reel-to-reel and coiler machines.


• Ensure transaction accuracy.

SKILLS:

• This position requires passing a Warehouse Level I & II Certification within 60 days of hire with or without a reasonable accommodation.


• Ability to read and decipher cut tags and cut comments.


• Ability to utilize, or learn to use, all necessary computer software and industrial equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.


• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).


• 1+ years of warehouse and/or maintenance experience.


• 1+ years of experience working in a wire cutting, CNC, machine operator, and/or production capacity, preferred.


• 1+ years of experience using a stand-up reach forklift, power pallet jacks, cherry picker, and sit-down forklift.


• Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse terminology and practices, including: bin level counting, performing manifesting outbound, and performing replenishment activities.


• Valid driver's license.


• Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ability to and comfort with working at heights of up to 28 ft. using powered equipment.


• Often standing, walking, bending, reaching, and stooping. Occasional sitting, talking/hearing. The use of hands/fingers are often needed.


• Continuous lifting and carrying of 1-20 lbs.


• Frequent lifting and carrying of 21-50 lbs.


• Occasional lifting and carrying of 51-100 lbs. with the assistance of a buddy-lift or a mechanical device.


• Vision requirements for driving equipment and company vehicles include:


• Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).


• Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more).


• Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point).


• Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships).


• May be required to work more than 40 hours per week.
