Job Summary

A Wire Cutter is responsible for pulling, counting, reeling and sorting wire orders based on specific customer orders. The role may also be responsible for shipping and receiving of materials and equipment. A Wire Cutter must always ensure they are maintaining proper inventory control and records during all product move processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Picking orders from warehouse inventory using item location identifiers
• Unloading, moving and storing materials
• Utilizing manual lifts, reach trucks and transfer equipment (requires applicable safety and operational training)
• Storing and stacking materials according to company standards
• Reporting inventory shortages and recommending new orders
• Removing damaged materials from stock and documenting inventory adjustments accordingly
• Operating RF scanners and other hand-held devices
• Tracking footages of wire on stock wire reels and updating wire tag markers
• Lifting heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and cleaning work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators
• Learning to safely operate all the necessary equipment in work area. Operating industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and product
• Counting, weighing or measuring incoming or outgoing items to compare identifying information and variety against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records; examining incoming shipments for damage or shortages and corresponding with shipper
• Filling orders and issuing materials and supplies per requests; documenting transactions appropriately; preparing requisitions and computing costs; keeping records of storeroom inventory
• Cutting and spooling all different wire sizes using wire cutting machinery
• Loading materials into vehicles and installing strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit
• Other responsibilities may be assigned

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

• Experience in picking orders from warehouse inventory using item location identifiers
• Experience in unloading, moving and storing materials
• Experience utilizing manual lifts, reach trucks and transfer equipment (requires applicable safety and operational training)
