Electrical Wire Harness Assembler (IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certified)

Job Summary

We're hiring an experienced Electrical Wire Harness Assembler in North Salt Lake, UT for a full-time day shift position paying $24-$28 per hour. This is a senior-level, hands-on role for a skilled assembler who knows wire harness building and precision soldering inside and out - and holds current IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification to prove it.

What You'll Do

• Build complete wire harnesses and cable assemblies from start to finish - cutting, stripping, routing, terminating, bundling, and lacing wire to spec.
• Perform high-precision hand soldering to IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class II or Class III and J-STD-001 standards, including splices, wire-to-pin joints, and connector terminations.
• Install connectors, backshells, sleeving, and labels using jigs, formboards, and build fixtures.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, BOMs, and engineering drawings in a version-controlled environment.
• Follow work instructions, travelers, and routing sheets accurately to hit production task times.
• Operate within a lean production cell while maintaining ESD compliance and 5S workplace standards.
• Use hand tools and assembly equipment including soldering irons, wire strippers, crimpers, continuity testers, magnifiers, and semi-automatic crimp presses.

What You Bring

Required

• Current IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certified Specialist (CS) certification - this is a firm requirement.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in electrical wire harness assembly, including soldering and cable fabrication.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering drawings.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and visual acuity for detailed, close-tolerance work.

Preferred

• J-STD-001 Certification (or willingness to obtain after hire).
• Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or medical device wiring environments.
• Proficiency soldering small-gauge wire (30 AWG and finer) and miniature connectors.
• Background in rework, repairs, or build-to-print, low-volume/high-mix manufacturing.

Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Pay & Compensation

$24.00 - $28.00 per hour, based on experience and certifications.
