Job summary

Indium Corporation in Utica, NY is looking for a Wire and CNC Technician to operate various CNC equipment and ensure high-quality production standards.

You will set up, program, and operate CNC and EDM machines, train operators, and complete documentation. Applicants should have a High School diploma and some experience with CNC programming. The position offers a salary range of $17.25 to $25.25 per hour, along with health benefits and a retirement plan.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience programming CNC machinery, 3 years preferred.
• Tooling Journeyworker Card preferred.
• Ability to perform under pressure.
• Provide own source of transportation for local travel.

Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

The Wire and CNC Technician is responsible for using appropriate software to create/modify programs, set up tooling, and operate various CNC equipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (COMPETENCIES)

• Set-up, program and operate CNC machine and EDM machines
• Read and work from drawings, engineering plans, blueprints and specifications
• Train operators on basis function in order to complete production jobs
• Uphold the standards necessary to maintain our business certifications and to maintain good quality standards and practices associated with them
• Follow procedures and work instructions
• Complete required documentation
• Follow a schedule and complete assignments on time
• Perform inspections to ensure product meets requirements
• Resolve or escape problems and recommend process improvements
• Maintain a clean work area and machines
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or GED
• 1 year experience programming CNC machinery, 3 years preferred
• Ability to interpret dimensional drawings
• Tooling Journeyworker Card preferred
• CAD experience required; CAM experience preferred
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Basic to advanced math skills
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to perform under pressure
• Ability to develop an understanding of Indium Corporation products and services
• Provide own source of transportation for any local/day travel, including travel between Indium Corporation facilities

The actual range will vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, and internal equity.
