WIOA Medical Assistant Grant Advocate - Part Time Remote

Job Summary

Assist in recruiting students for the Medical Assistant program. Provide case management support to students to ensure their successful completion of training and employment objectives. Offer follow-up services to graduates to support job retention, wage gains, and career development. Document activities and complete required reports.

This position is part-time (19 hours/week), fully remote, with travel required for recruiting responsibilities. Applicants must be residents of Arizona with reliable transportation. The position is contingent upon grant funding through September 30th, 2026.

Responsibilities

Case Management
  • Assess student strengths/needs initially and regularly to support success.
  • Monitor academic progress and provide early intervention.
  • Support instructional staff with training on the grant program and student support services.
  • Provide wrap-around services addressing barriers such as mentoring, transportation, childcare, employment counseling, and social services.
  • Maintain ongoing contact with students throughout the program to facilitate transitions.
  • Offer post-graduation support, including certification assistance and employment counseling.
Recruitment
  • Promote the grant program through outreach to high schools, community organizations, job fairs, and college recruitment efforts.
Documentation
  • Maintain grant-related activity records.
  • Complete and submit progress reports in coordination with the MA Practicum Coordinator.

Qualifications

Two years of college (60 credits) and two years of related experience, or four years of related experience. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Background verification is required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of program development and evaluation.
  • Understanding of federal and state laws related to practice.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to analyze situations and develop solutions.
  • Knowledge of federal grant processes.
