Job summary

Bogus Basin seeks a Winter Sustainability Technician to support waste diversion, recycling and composting programs, and guest education during the winter season. You will sort waste streams, operate diversion stations, and assist with events while promoting Bogus Basin's climate action goals and community impact.

You will engage guests in sustainability efforts, coordinate with volunteers, and assist food and beverage tasks as needed in a dynamic mountain environment.

Qualifications

• Requires some education in sustainability or related field.
• Passion and basic knowledge of sustainability & waste diversion programs.
• Must be at least 20 years of age with a valid driver’s license.
• Excellent verbal and written science communication skills.
• Desire to care for open spaces and the environment.
• Background check required.
• Availability to work for the entire winter season.

Responsibilities

• Sort guest waste into recycling, compost, and landfill streams.
• Transport waste to waste diversion centers.
• Operate truck with trailer for recycling drop-off.
• Maintain waste stations and signage.
• Buss and clean tables; assist beverage team as needed.
• Provide guest education on recycling and composting.
