Job summary

AmeriCorps St. Louis is seeking a Winter Shelter Support Member to serve during overnight activations and assist with volunteer coordination for shelters in the metro area. You will promote volunteer opportunities and help implement training and recognition programs.

This AmeriCorps State/National position runs from November 1, 2026 through March 30, 2027, with a full-time schedule and a living allowance, health coverage, and the option to receive an Education Award or End of Service Stipend.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Age 18+ to apply; no upper age limit.
• No prior experience required; training provided to perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a volunteer during overnight winter shelter activations at ACSTL and identified shelters in Code Blue and St. Louis Winter Outreach networks.
• Support volunteer coordination for the ACSTL winter shelter.
• Promote winter shelter volunteer opportunities throughout the metro St. Louis area.
• Assist in implementing volunteer training and recognition.
