Job summary

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is hiring a Winter-Seasonal Mental Health Worker I for the Night shift at the Dr. Solomon Carter Fuller Mental Health Center. The role provides direct care, supports rehabilitative activities, and assists with client transport and safety.

This is a winter-seasonal, 40-hour position with limited benefits beyond paid holidays and sick time accruals. Selected candidate will participate in admissions, document care plans, and help maintain a therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques used in care, development and treatment of mentally ill individuals.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to gather information through observing and questioning individuals.
• Capacity to interact with people under physical and/or emotional stress.
• Ability to work in a team setting and in group situations.
• Capacity to transport heavy objects or persons.

Responsibilities

• Completes MHW admission information on clients by interviewing, orienting, and documenting information for care.
• Contributes to interpersonal and community relations to promote quality care.
• Ensures coverage and duties are completed daily to maintain a safe environment.
• Oversees/crisis situations using policies to promote least restrictive care.
• Pursues ongoing staff development to improve competency and role development.
• Maintains a safe, clean environment in compliance with regulations.
