Job summary

Alt's Operation in Verona, WI is seeking a Salt Truck Operator to keep properties clear during winter storms. Earn $32–$38/hour with on-call, nights, weekends, and long shifts as needed. You may load your truck with a skid steer and advance toward year-round opportunities based on performance.

Requirements include a valid driver's license with a clean record and the ability to operate a skid steer. CDL is not required, but beneficial for higher pay.

Qualifications

• Seasonal winter role roughly Nov–Apr.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record is required.
• Ability to operate a skid steer to load salt.
• CDL not required, but having one is a pay raise.

Responsibilities

• Keep commercial and residential properties clear by running the salt route when a storm hits.
• Load your own truck and operate a skid steer to fill the salt spreader.
• Prioritize no-tolerance sites first, then work through the route to cover all properties.
• Drive cautiously in winter conditions, protecting vehicle and others on the road.
• Perform pre- and post-run checks and basic maintenance on equipment.
