Job summary

Mercy offers a paid Nurse Externship designed for nursing students enrolled in an approved program who participate in clinical work under RN supervision. You will assist in patient care and perform clinical procedures within scope while supporting the healthcare team to promote patient wellness.

You will rotate through various units to gain hands-on experience and develop skills such as IV therapy, Foley care, NG tube care, specimen collection, and comprehensive assessments.

Qualifications

• Completion of at least two semesters of nursing coursework, including clinicals
• Enrollment in an accredited nursing program
• BLS certification
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, and perform tasks requiring reaching, bending, and squatting
